North Melbourne is Melbourne’s industrial heartland, with remnants of its history brought to life through its charming heritage architecture and coveted warehouse spaces. Today it’s home to a largely residential population, living alongside a number of quaint parks and reserves while still enjoying convenient access to one of the world’s most liveable cities. Known for its working-class origins, North Melbourne has a population of over 15,000 people, the majority of which are young and renting. The suburb is an emerging property hotspot that has undergone increasing gentrification in recent years.Just a few kilometres from the CBD and with the M2 Citylink freeway running along its western border, North Melbourne is one of the most accessible and conveniently located suburbs of the inner metropolitan area. The south eastern point of North Melbourne shares a junction with the iconic Queen Victoria market, and everyone and everything south of the Royal Melbourne hospital, the Royal Children’s Hospital and Royal Park; and to the east of Kensington, can call North Melbourne home.
